Carbon Peel

Carbon Peel

The Carbon Laser Peel also known as the ‘China Doll Peel’ (named for its porcelain doll like finish to the skin) is an innovative laser resurfacing treatment that utilises the power of laser energy and the gentleness of carbon to treat skin imperfections. It is highly beneficial for people with oily skin, blackheads, enlarged pores and dull skin. It is an excellent way to refresh and exfoliate your skin.

A thin layer of carbon is applied in the form of a mask to the area to be treated and allowed to dry over a period of 5 minutes. Thereafter, a high endQ-Switched Laser is directed to the area. The carbon particles absorb toxins and excess oils on the skin and the laser energy causes explosion of the carbon particles. These exploding carbon particles removes the dead skin build up in the pores and the inner walls of the pores. The simultaneous generation of thermal energy stimulates the synthesis of new collagen and the promotion of a healthy-looking complexion. Skin structure is visibly strengthened and enlarged pores purified and cleared.

All areas can be treated – Face & Neck are the most common areas.
Other areas - Arms, knees, buttocks and back.

You will be happy to note an instant brightening of your skin post procedure. There is no downtime for the procedure. The results will continue to improve throughout the successive sessions.
An add on benefit is temporary hair removal to the treated area which is desirable in female patients.

At M A Skin & Hair Superspeciality Clinic we recommend 4 to 6 sessions 3-4 weeks apart, depending on skin type being treated. This timeframe allows regeneration of collagen and elastin of skin tissue. Maintenance treatments after your initial course are recommended 3 monthly.

Side effects are minimal with slight redness and tingling a few hours post treatment in few patients.

There is no pain associated with the Carbon Laser Peel treatment. During the procedure, you may experience slight tingling and warmth on the skin, which is normal while the laser pulses away the thin layer of Carbon.
